Electric Quilt 6 Frequently Asked Questions

Why is my Precision Bar cut off, so that I only see the top half of the words/numbers?

If your Graph Pad or Precision Bar looks like this, all we need to do is change the DPI setting. Here's what to do:

  1. Click Start > Control Panel.
  2. Click Appearance & Themes > Display. (You may just see Dislay, depending on if you have chosen Category or Classic View.)
  3. Click the Settings tab.
  4. Click the Advanced button.
  5. Click the General tab.
  6. Change the DPI setting to Normal size (96 dpi).
  7. Click Apply.
  8. Click OK to close the Advanced window.

After doing this, you may wish to try out a few different screen resolutions to see which one will work best for you. When you have finished, click OK to close the display window, close the Control Panel window.

Help, CTRL and ALT don't work when coloring!
Sounds like you may have accidentally used Sticky Keys at some time. This happens if you hold down the SHIFT key for too long (or your pet cat sits on your keyboard). Try these steps:

  • Click START > Control Panel.
  • If it says "switch to classic view" on the side, click that.
  • Double-click Accessibility Options.
  • On the Keyboard tab, put a check next to Sticky keys.
  • Click Apply.
  • Uncheck Sticky keys.
  • Click Apply, then OK.

That should do it!

My message boxes have buttons that say OK and Cancel, but there's no text. The text is missing and is replaced by squares.
If your message box looks like this, then the font you have your message boxes set to may be missing:

Windows XP:
Right-click on an empty spot on the desktop and choose Properties.
Then go to the Appearance tab > click the Advanced button.
Under Item, set it to Message Box.
Then set the font to Arial 9pt font.
Click OK and then OK again.

Windows Vista:
Right-click on an empty spot on the desktop and choose Personalize.
Then go to Window Color and Appearance > click the Advanced button.
Under Item, set it to Message Box.
Then set the font to Arial 9pt font.
Click OK and then OK again.

That will make your message box look like this again:
